The Hamel 13AA Hawks defeated Chisago Lakes (11-5) and the Minneapolis Millers (5-3), before dropping a close one to Minnetonka Blue (7-5, time limit reached) in pool play of the 2022 STMA Wood Bat Classic.

With a 2-1 record they advanced to bracket play and defeated Elk River (5-4) .  This victory guaranteed berths to both the MBL State Tournament and the MYAS (Gopher State) Tournament of Champions in July of 2022.   To close out the tournament with berths already earned, the Hawks dropped two close, defensive battles to  Spring Lake Park (3-2) and Minnetonka White (4-1).
