Congratulations to our 11U Select team on winning the Plymouth New Hope Little League Scheels Memorial Cup! The team went undefeated in the tournament, winning 4 pool play games and 2 bracket games. Despite their record, Hamel faced tough opposition including a very good Hopkins team which Hamel beat in pool play by 2 runs and by 1 run in the championship game.

Down by 3 runs heading into the bottom of the 5th inning, Hamel finally got the bats going against Hopkins scoring 5 runs. Now leading by 2 runs in the top of the 6th, Hamel just needed to hold off Hopkins for the win. However, Hopkins wasn't going down without a fight and managed 2 runs to tie the game. After getting a leadoff single in the bottom of the 6th, followed by a ground out, Hamel hit a line drive to the left-center fence and scored the runner to win the game in dramatic walk-off fashion.

All players contributed throughout the tournament with great pitching, very few fielding errors, persistent hitting and aggressive base running. This team will also play in the Baseball in Benin Wood Bat Tournament in early August. Good luck Hamel!
