Congratulations to our 14AA Hawks!  They placed 3rd at the St. Louis Park Slugfest and have punched tickets to both the MBT and GSTC State Tournaments in July.

Hamel opened with a 10-4 triumph over Edina on Friday.  Jack Parker spun a gem, striking out 11 batters and allowing just four hits.  Hamel combined for nine hits led by Royce Ullom with two, and one each for Scherer, Servi, Parker, Fogle, Melsen, Cohn, and Sweet.

Hamel suffered a heartbreaker in the semifinals on Saturday, losing on a walk-off hit to Wayzata Blue, 9-8.  Connor Rouen and Chris Crum kept Wayzata at bay, scattering eight hits over six innings.  Hamel was led by Liam Sweet (3x3 with an RBI), J.T. Fogle (2x3) and a hit each for Parker, Rouen, Ullom, Wentzel, Melsen, and Woodrum.

Hamel bounced back quickly on Sunday morning at 9am, beating East Ridge Black 8-4.  Vince Scherer recorded 20/21 outs for Hamel before hitting the the pitch count maximum.  Scherer struck out 5 over 6 2/3 and allowed only six hits.  Connor Rouen shut the door for the final out to give Hamel a pair of state bids.  Noah Wentzel hit a two-run, inside the park home run for Hamel.  Jack Servi doubled, and Crum and Woodrum each had singles.  Hamel stole six bases on the day.

Go Hawks!
